Position Summary:
The Population Health Analyst works within Duke Health Technology Solutions' (DHTS) Analytics Center of Excellence (ACE). A successful candidate is an IT professional with Epic experience and/or experience in data analytics and reporting. Clinical experience in ambulatory is a plus. The candidate will actively contribute to the design, configuration, testing, and maintenance of the Maestro Care (Duke's Epic EHR) Healthy Planet toolset & reporting framework in support of population management programs across Duke Health. The incumbent will collaborate with Epic technical support, reporting/analytics teams, and Maestro Care application staff; as well as serve as a liaison between informatics and clinical customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Obtain Epic Healthy Planet certification or proficiency as defined by management
* Serve as Maestro Care Healthy Planet application expert for base functionality. Maintain working knowledge of Cogito data warehouse, Reporting Workbench, Slicer Dicer & Radar Dashboards
* Gather and document business requirements for new features and enhancements
* Implement application tools to assist end users with business clinical documentation and reporting needs
* Work collaboratively with other technical teams, including Epic technical support, Maestro application team analysts, and ACE reporting teams.
* Provide systems support, including troubleshooting, configuration, and testing of software
* Advise and assist with educational issues, including cross-training of team members, end-users and DHTS Service Desk
* Maintain solid communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding development status of work requests
* Work closely with business leadership to understand the short and long-term business plans, and work with DHTS leadership to identify and implement technology solutions to support those plans
* Adhere to organizational policies and procedures and follow all change control processes defined within Maestro Care

* Proactively complete assigned Maestro Care application deployment(s), management and testing tasks within defined timeline
* Develop report specifications and work closely with report writers to ensure all operational and regulatory reporting needs are met
* Coordinates and operationalizes simple to complex projects with limited direction.
* Assists with the definition of measures and monitoring of actual business benefits and ROI resulting from technology initiatives
* Works with colleagues to ensure efficient use of resources and avoid duplication of technology solutions
Level 3
* Individual contributor who may function as either a team leader or a technical leader
o Technical Lead - Having subject matter expertise with proficiency in a specific area or broad knowledge across areas; no direct supervisory role but serves as a technical resource for the team
o Team Lead - Responsible for supporting management in day-to-day personnel oversight and workflow management activities, overseeing performance management.
* Perform in-depth analysis of end user department workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic software as they relate to population management toolset design, reporting and data requirements
* Responsible for defined area of Nova pertaining to the analysis of release notes, reporting metrics, validation, and resolution prior to implementation of designated RA and /or SU provided by Epic
* Collaborates with business and IT leadership to define project implementation approaches and to identify and monitor related key performance metrics
* Maintains a high level of competitive intelligence and awareness of evolving industry trends and technology landscape

Education
Bachelor's degree in a related clinical or technical field, or four years of equivalent technical experience required.
