Job Description




As a Security Officer - Education Patrol Full-Time in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain visibly present to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support students, staff, and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication, reporting concerns and escalating issues as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control, and other security-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and notifying appropriate campus contacts and/or public responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards and/or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, corridors, and high-traffic areas, verifying identification or authorization where required, and directing visitors to appropriate locations and/or campus resources.
  • Complete thorough reports and logs for incidents, patrol observations, and daily activity, and communicate updates to Allied Universal management and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
