Your responsibilities

About the Role

We're seeking a Controls Engineer specializing in PLC software to design, develop, and integrate controls solutions for automation projects. This role involves PLC programming, software development, debugging, and commissioning both inhouse and at customer sites.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate PLC programs for automation equipment.
  • Create software designs from functional specifications.
  • Perform debug and commissioning on the shop floor and customer locations.
  • Ensure compliance with company and customer safety standards.
  • Prepare technical documentation, feasibility studies, and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot issues and propose effective engineering solutions.

Your profile

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in powertrain assembly automation and PLC programming.
  • Proficiency and work experience with Siemens (Simatic Step 7 / TIA portal) and/or Allen Bradley (Studio 5000 / RS Logix) Controls PLC software is required.
  • Experience with virtual commissioning preferably utilizing fe.screensim.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD; robot programming (ABB, Fanuc, Kuka) a plus.
  • Basic understanding of vision systems a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%.
