Summary

The Regional General Manager (RGM) is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, operational performance, compliance, and financial results of multiple operations within a designated region. The RGM serves as a primary interface with key customers for proposal approvals, contract negotiations, and operational decisions. This role champions continuous improvement initiatives, LEAN practices, Six Sigma projects, ISO compliance, and supply chain optimization, while driving growth through new business development and marketing strategies.

The RGM ensures that all regional operations align with the corporate mission, vision, and core values, consistently meeting or exceeding client and company expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic & Operational Leadership



  • Oversee regional operations to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable management of all sites.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and systems to improve productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Ensure operations meet prescribed service goals, client requirements, and compliance with contracts and agreements.
  • Set and monitor performance goals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the region.
  • Lead LEAN, Six Sigma, and other process improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.


Customer & Client Management



  • Serve as the regional champion for client relationship management, ensuring consistent communication and responsiveness.
  • Lead regional business reviews and strategic discussions with clients, vendors, and partners.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing leadership to identify growth opportunities, develop new accounts, and support proposal and rate development.


Financial & Budget Management



  • Develop and manage regional operating budgets, ensuring alignment with cost, revenue, and profitability targets.
  • Maintain P&L responsibility for the region, implementing financial controls to meet operational and contractual goals.
  • Monitor contract pricing across multiple client accounts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.


People & Team Leadership



  • Lead, mentor, and develop site-level managers and operations teams across the region.
  • Drive succession planning, talent development, and leadership initiatives within regional operations.
  • Communicate corporate mission, vision, and values to motivate and align teams toward achieving operational objectives.


Equipment, Facilities & Technology



  • Ensure regional facilities, equipment, and material handling assets meet company standards for safety, maintenance, and efficiency.
  • Stay informed on new technologies, software, and automation opportunities to enhance operational performance.


Safety & Compliance



  • Promote and enforce a proactive safety culture across all sites, ensuring adherence to OSHA and other federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Audit regional operations for compliance with safety, security, and quality standards.
  • Maintain ISO and other regulatory certifications across the region as required.


Other Duties



  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as required to meet regional and corporate objectives.


Supervisory Responsibilities



  • Directly manages Operations Managers and oversees site-level leadership teams across multiple locations.


Skills and Competencies

Education and Experience



  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a leadership or operations management role.
  • Experience managing multiple sites, large teams, and complex P&L responsibilities preferred.


Technical Skills



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of WMS and other logistics/transportation management systems.
  • Strong understanding of operational metrics, financial analysis, and process improvement methodologies.


Leadership & Interpersonal Skills



  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in executing job responsibilities.
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate teams, adapt to change, and drive results in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Proven capability to develop effective relationships, integrate diverse teams, and unify regional operations under common objectives.


Work Environment



  • The RGM primarily works in an office setting but may visit operational sites regularly. Noise levels are typically low to moderate, with minimal exposure to hazardous materials.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $115,000 - $172,000/ Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
