Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Early Career Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer to join our Syracuse, New York office. This entry-level role offers a blend of office-based work and field assignments, supporting a diverse portfolio of environmental projects. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers on projects that protect natural resources and promote sustainable communities.

This position is ideal for an early-career professional looking to build hands-on experience across a range of environmental disciplines while receiving mentorship and exposure to real-world projects.



Responsibilities



  • Support environmental assessments and investigations involving soil (surface and subsurface), groundwater, surface water, and soil vapor



  • Conduct field sampling and provide oversight on environmental and construction-related projects



  • Enter, review, and manage field and laboratory data; assist with data quality control



  • Assist with the preparation of technical reports, work plans, and project documentation



  • Support subcontractor coordination and oversight during field activities



  • Contribute to a variety of project types, including:




    • Environmental compliance



    • Construction support



    • Natural resource management



    • Hazardous site investigation and remediation







Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Hydrology, Geosciences, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field



  • One (1) or more years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, including exposure to:




    • Field sampling procedures



    • Monitoring well installation



    • Subcontractor oversight



    • Analytical data interpretation



    • Technical report writing







Desired Qualifications



  • Experience with GIS and/or CAD



  • Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification



  • First Aid / CPR certification





Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.


Drug Screen Statement

Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen.

Pay Range
$55,000 $65,000 USD

The EA pay range for this position is intended as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation or salary. Factors considered when making an offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, and compliance with federal and state laws.
