Monmouth Crossing has an employment opportunity available for a Director of Nursing (DON). The Director of Nursing assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services within the facility. In collaboration with the Facility Administrator, this role allocates departmental resources efficiently and economically to ensure each resident attains or maintains the highest practical level of physical, mental, and psychosocial wellbeing. The Director of Nursing also works closely with other departments, medical professionals, consultants, and external organizations-including government agencies and advocacy groups-to develop, support, and coordinate resident care, oversee related administrative functions, and represent the interests of the facility.



Responsibilities

    Provides considerate respectful care focused upon the residents' individual needs and assures the highest level of quality care and comfort is maintained for the residents at all times.
  • Affirms the Resident's right to make decisions regarding his/her medical care, including the decision to discontinue treatment, to the extent permitted by law.
  • Demonstrates the ability to obtain information and interpret information in terms of the needs of the age of the Residents cared for.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the range of care needed based on the age of the Residents cared for.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of growth, development and/or adult health throughout the life span as appropriate to the job performed.
  • Successfully completes life-span education as appropriate.
  • Establishes and implements standards of care and evaluates resident care through the application of the nursing process and compares the delivery of the care to the established standard(s).
  • Plans and facilitates unit based education to maintain and enhance the clinical competency of the nursing staff.
  • Establishes and implements standards of care regarding pain management of Residents as it relates to assessments, interventions, follow-up, reassessment and education to resident/family.
  • Provides on-going effective communication with residents/families, other departments, physicians and off-site providers.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Previous related experience required.
  • Nurse management experience in an assisted living environment or a skilled nursing setting.
  • NJ RN License required.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • Must possess and demonstrate a high degree of leadership, organizational ability, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of long term care management, policies, budgeting, personnel management, and census development is required.
  • Knowledge of current federal and state laws and regulations that apply to the practice of nursing in a long-term care setting.
  • Must possess time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Ability to make presentations before top management, public groups, and staff.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Compensation Range: $117,000 - $198,900 annually

The compensation above reflects the established range from CentraState Healthcare System (CSHS) for this position at the time the job was posted. CSHS considers many factors to determine compensation, including education, experience, skills, licenses, certification, and training. As such, team member compensation may fall outside this range.

Additionally, the compensation range reflects base salary and does not include extra shift rates or incentives tied to quality, productivity, etc., as applicable.

The benefits outlined also reflect CSHS' policy at the time of posting. Benefits as are made available to other similarly situated team members of CSHS, although participation is at all times in accordance with and subject to the eligibility and other provisions of such plans and programs. CSHS may modify its benefits plans or programs at any time.
