Project Management Analyst needed by Brookhaven National Laboratory managed by Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC in Upton, New York (Hybrid Position/May Telecommute) to Support the Project Management Center (PMC) by providing project management expertise.

  • Assist in planning, cost estimating, scheduling, risk assessment, and reporting of earned value management systems (EVMS).
  • Assist in implementing all aspects of an earned value management system, which consists of developing a fully integrated resource-loaded schedule. Assist technical management in developing resource requirements to support the development of the project cost estimate.
  • Assist in developing the resource loaded schedule using Primavera software. Assist in the analysis of the project schedule using critical path methodology and project metrics.
  • Daily tasks to include:
  • 1. Schedule and Cost Monitoring, Review updates to project schedules in Primavera P6, Monitor cost performance using EVMS metrics, Track progress against baselines for scope, schedule, and budget.
  • 2. Data Analysis and Reporting, generate and validate daily or weekly reports, analyze variances and identify trends or risks, and support monthly performance reporting.
  • 3. Collaboration and Meetings, Attend daily or weekly project status meetings with Project Managers, Control Account Managers (CAMs), and engineers, Provide project performance data and recommendations, Interface with procurement, engineering, and finance teams to maintain alignment.
  • 4. Baseline Change Control, Assist with preparing change requests or project change requests, Track and log changes to scope, schedule, or budget, Ensure updates are properly integrated into cost and schedule systems.
  • 5. Tool and System Maintenance, Maintain the integrity of data in project management systems (e.g., Cobra, Primavera, Excel-based trackers), Update resource assignments, work breakdown structures (WBS), and control accounts.
  • 6. Document Control and Compliance, Maintain project documentation in accordance with DOE and BNL procedures, Support audits and reviews (e.g., Oice of Project Assessment, DOE EVMS reviews), Ensure compliance with internal procedures and federal regulations.
  • 7. Support Planning Activities, Assist in developing resource-loaded schedules for new or evolving project phases, Participate in Integrated Project Team (IPT) planning or risk workshops, Coordinate inputs for funding profile updates and forecasts.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Management, Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Project Management and 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation utilizing Primavera P6, MS Project, and Deltek Cobra; experience of cost estimating and budgeting; knowledge of Earned Value Management System processes and requirements; experience with project controls.

Project Management Analysts earn between $148,443 to $179,800 yearly. ERAP ELIGIBLE - $1,000
