Job Description

Job Summary:



This position reports directly to the Vice President, Total Rewards, and is primarily responsible for administration, vendor management, compliance, process improvement, employee engagement and communications with respect to Mercury's retirement plans and tax-advantaged health and flexible spending accounts. This role partners closely with payroll, IT, finance and external vendors (our recordkeepers, investment advisors and auditors) to ensure an excellent employee experience and full regulatory compliance.



Open to remote work, but prefer ability to work on-site out of Andover, MA as needed.



Job Responsibilities:



  • Oversee day-to-day administration of the company's 401(k) and deferred compensation plans, including eligibility, enrollments, contribution changes, loans, withdrawals, periodic reconciliations and required notices.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing and transmission of employee records, payroll contributions, employer matches and forfeitures.
  • Manage annual plan activities with support from external vendors, including non-discrimination testing, true-up and annual contributions, Form 5500 preparation and filing, and external audits.
  • Oversee day-to-day administration of the company's health savings account (HSA) and flexible savings account (FSA) programs, including periodic reconciliations of contributions across internal systems and third-party vendors.
  • Support employees as a subject matter expert on retirement plan, HSA and FSA inquiries, including drafting individual and collective plan communications and addressing employee issues and routine inquiries.
  • Maintain retirement plan, HSA and FSA documentation, procedures and internal controls.
  • Manage and administer employee leave of absence programs, including FMLA, parental leave, medical leave and other applicable policies, including compliance with applicable law while providing guidance and support to employees and managers throughout the leave process.
  • Provide periodic support on an as-needed basis to other members of the Total Rewards team, particularly with respect to the company's health and welfare plans.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Typically requires 2+ years of experience in benefits administration with a strong focus on retirement plans, particularly 401(k) plans.
  • Strong project management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence, including the ability to run webinars for employee populations.
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, IRS and DOL regulations.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment, juggling multiple priorities.
  • A sense of urgency and a strong customer-service approach to our business and function leaders, as well as to our employees.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist), CEP (Certified Equity Professional) or equivalent.
  • Experience with Fidelity as a retirement plan recordkeeper.

Pay Grade Range
Fulltime Equivalent Job Grade Salary Range for this position
* $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees
* $84,000.00 - $168,000.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA
* $88,500.00 - $177,000.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ
