Overview

Our Nuclear Services Group is seeking a Part Time (30 hours or less per week) Principal Environmental Licensing Specialist to join the team. In this role, you will bring your expertise to aid in interactions with regulatory agencies and stakeholders, help gather data during site visits, and stay updated on environmental regulations. You will have the opportunity to perform and lead environmental analyses in support of nuclear environmental licensing projects nationwide. This position can be based in the following locations:

  • Kennesaw, GA (Suburb of Atlanta)
  • Oklahoma City, OK
  • Naperville, IL (Suburb of Chicago)
  • Overland Park, KS
  • Ft. Worth, TX
  • Plano, TX (Suburb of Dallas)
  • Remote

Responsibilities

Each day in this role, your work protects the environment while enabling the future of clean, reliable energy. You bring clarity to complex environmental studies, partner with regulators and communities, and help guide decisions that matter for generations.

  • Environmental Review & Compliance: Complete reviews of Environmental Reports, Siting Studies, and Site Characterization Reports to ensure compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and other applicable regulatory guidelines
  • Licensing & Regulatory Support: Support environmental licensing applications as needed during NRC and agency reviews
  • Stakeholder & Public Engagement: Interact as needed with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and the public to address environmental concerns
  • Regulatory Knowledge & Best Practices: Stay current on relevant environmental regulations and best practices #LI-MB1

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Geology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in environmental and nuclear licensing consulting
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations (NEPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, etc.)
  • Experience working with federal or state regulatory agencies
  • Experience developing technical reports, environmental reports and supporting regulatory reviews
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications / Skills

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Geology, Geography, Hydrology, or a related field
  • Experience with environmental impact assessments and environmental report preparation
  • An understanding of nuclear facility operations and potential environmental impacts
  • Previous experience permitting nuclear utility projects

Pay Range

USD $96,000.00 - USD $148,000.00 /Yr.

When salary range is listed it reflects typical compensation for this role based on level and location. Actual pay depends on experience, skills, and education.
