Job Description
Primary Purpose Leads technical execution for critical projects and serves as a resource for advanced troubleshooting. Develops procedures, promotes best practices, and ensures operational excellence across assigned areas.
The PALNG Electrician is a skilled tradesperson who installs, repairs, and maintains electrical systems, and components. They work with precision instruments and electrical knowledge to ensure the proper functioning of electrical power distribution systems and equipment. They ensure that electrical systems are safe, functional, and compliant with industry specifications and regulatory requirements. The PALNG Electrician will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality, reliability, and efficiency of our electrical systems and components.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducts complex diagnostics and repairs on specialized equipment.
- Evaluates technical problems and recommends practical solutions.
- Prepares detailed reports on maintenance and repair activities.
- Provides technical support during installation and commissioning.
- Maintains compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Trains junior technicians on advanced troubleshooting techniques.
- Collaborates with engineers to implement process improvements.
- Oversees inventory of critical spare parts and tools.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical specifications to determine wiring layouts, installation methods, and equipment locations.
Install, repair, inspect, and maintain electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in accordance with national and local electrical codes.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections of electrical systems, equipment, and components to detect hazards, defects, malfunctions, needs for adjustments or repairs, and areas for improvements.
Perform regular inspections of motor control centers, switchgear housing and cabinets. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems and issues using test equipment and hand tools and implement effective solutions to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- Typically requires 5 years of related experience.
- 1-3 years' experience with Petrochemical, Refining, Power Generation, or LNG operations preferred.

- Equipment Maintenance & Repair - Any process used to keep a business's equipment in reliable working order, including routine upkeep as well as corrective repair.
- Technical Documentation - Technical documentation refers to any document that explains the use, functionality, creation, or architecture of a product.
- Technical Support - Services from a hardware or software company to provide users with help and advice about their products.
- Data Analysis - Measuring and managing organization data, identifying methodological best practices and conducting statistical analyses.
- Asset Performance Monitoring - Designing and implementing systems that use unique physical or behavioral characteristics (biometrics) such as fingerprints, facial recognition, or voice recognition for authentication, identification, or security purposes.
- Verification and Validation - Verification and validation are independent procedures that are used together for checking that a product, service, or system meets requirements and specifications and that it fulfils its intended purpose.
- Issue Diagnosis - Isolates an issue and understands the reason why it happened in the first place.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Able to perform business management duties, such as maintaining records or files, preparing reports, or ordering supplies or equipment.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
- Place conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes
- Possesses a working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and machine tools.
- Possesses physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in various positions and environments.
- Displays extensive experience in managing and mitigating risks associated with electrical maintenance work.
- Possesses strong working knowledge and understanding of how to read and interpret electrical schematics and circuit/wiring diagrams.
- Possesses strong working knowledge and understanding of how to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, and other Process Safety Information related to operation of an LNG plant.
- Possesses the ability to manage multiple and complex issues and work independently.
- Shows consistent attention to detail and a commitment to quality, with the ability to diagnose and repair electrical issues accurately and efficiently.
- Possesses strong working knowledge of Control of Work and safe isolation practices.
- Applies an understanding of the maintenance work process and systems.
Work Schedule
HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 2-3 days per week.

$82,000.00 - $130,000.00 / year
