Endoscopy Procedure and Scope Room Technologist

Shift: Full Time (40 hours/week)
Schedule: 4 10-hr shifts/week 8a-6:30p

Call Requirement: Occasional nights and weekends with a 30-minute response time

This role may independently participate in low- to high-acuity cases AND high-level disinfection, contributing to all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Endoscopy Suite and performing as an Endoscopy Tech in Scope Room AND in procedures.

This position will have the opportunity to rotate between our inpatient endoscopy department (Outpatient Diagnostics) and Mercy's new outpatient digestive health institute (Kathryn Ann Meinders)!

Overview:

Maintains professional accountability and technical support for provision of patient care for the endoscopy patients experience. As directed, may be preparing the endoscopy field, obtain needed equipment uphold patient safety standards and assist the physician and registered nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties and may assist with special procedures as noted on the career ladder program. These duties may range from limited to overly complex. All duties are performed in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: High-School Diploma or GED are required. You may be asked to provide proof of education.

• Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

• Other: Must understand English both written and spoken, must be able to perform job-related functions safely and successfully, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.
