Position Title: CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER

Position Summary: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Continuous Improvement Engineer to support operational excellence across all manufacturing operations. This role will focus on identifying and facilitating the implementation of process improvement initiatives across all manufacturing operations. In addition to traditional Lean and Six Sigma approaches, this role will play a key part in Industry 4.0 initiatives, evaluating and recommending smart manufacturing technologies to improve efficiency and quality. The ideal candidate will be data-driven, technically savvy, and capable of delivering measurable return on investment through continuous improvement and innovation.

Reports To: Director of Technology and Continuous Improvement

Accountabilities: Accountable for understanding and following all SOPs and WIs related to job duties while supporting 6S and Lean Manufacturing concepts. Accountable for understanding manufacturing operations and functions, developing and implementing process improvements, creating manufacturing WIs and understanding quality assurance inspection methods.

Duties:

* Identify and resolve inefficiencies and quality challenges across all manufacturing areas.

* Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with production leaders, using Lean tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, OEE, and Poka-Yoke.

* Conduct detailed time studies and process mapping to streamline workflows and reduce waste.

* Evaluate and recommend new tools, automation, data collection systems, or digital technologies (i.e., real-time dashboards, IoT sensors, MES integration) aligned with Industry 4.0 principles.

* Analyze new technology investments for feasibility, implementation impact, and calculate ROI to support capital expenditure proposals.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including IT, Engineering, and Quality) to pilot and implement smart manufacturing solutions.

* Develop, revise, and maintain SOPs and Work Instructions, ensuring they reflect best practices and updated process changes.

* Create visual work instructions and training tools, assist in training staff on new systems and procedures.

* Collect, analyze, and report data related to process performance, cost savings, and improvement KPI's.

* Support layout redesigns, material flow optimization, and ergonomic improvements on the shop floor.

* Contribute to CAPA activities by identifying root causes of process failures and implementing sustainable fixes.

Job Qualification Requirements:

Educational Experience -Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred.

Experience - 2-3 years of experience in a continuous improvement or process engineering role. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with AutoCad and/or Inventor preferred. Proven experience or interest in Industry 4.0 technologies, such as digital work instruction, smart sensors, or connected factory tools.

Physical Demands - The employee is required to:

* stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor

* exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or

* exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or

* exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Certification Required - None

Visual Acuity - Near acuity and accommodation as required for reading computer screens, documents, machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts and machinery.

Hearing Ability - Accommodations as required to communicate with internal and external customers.

Working Conditions - Normally works in a shop environment and may frequently be subject to:

* High noise levels from machinery

* Physical hazards from moving equipment and production components

* Breathing fumes, dust and mist

* Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids

* Welding flashes

The employee may be required to follow other job related instructions and to perform other job related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
