As Executive Director of Strategic Employee and Client Communications, you will play a central role in ensuring that employees, clinicians, and staff across the system are informed, inspired, and connected to the organization's mission and strategic priorities. This is a highly visible leadership position with the opportunity to influence how one of the world's leading health systems communicates with its people-reinforcing culture, strengthening trust, and supporting organizational performance at scale.

Core Duties

Strategic Communications Leadership



  • Develop and implement a long term and annual comprehensive internal communications strategy and narrative aligned with mission, vision, values, and strategic goals
  • Create and implement internal communications strategies that engage employees, reinforce culture, and support organizational change
  • Establish and maintain metrics for team success and relay progress to key stakeholders
  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative data to assess engagement and design long-term improvement plans



Executive Advisory & Change Leadership



  • Act as a strategic advisor on internal communications matters including employee engagement, change management, system communications, and executive communications
  • Attend and actively participate in senior leadership meetings, providing consultation and guidance on communications priorities and decisions
  • Identify business challenges and communications opportunities based on deep understanding of organizational culture and priorities



Stakeholder & Client Partnership



  • Work with department and functional leaders to identify and address internal communications needs
  • Build strategic relationships with administrative and clinical leadership
  • Develop strategic communications plans in support of client priorities in partnership with HR, IT, Legal, etc.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure consistent messaging to leaders, employees, physicians, and researchers
  • Understand and develop communication priorities to engage clinicians and staff



Employee Engagement & Internal Communications Execution



  • Design multi-channel approaches to employee engagement across the institution and all entities
  • Partner with HR to drive employee communications strategy and engagement
  • Coordinate development and execution of internal communications strategies and support across the system



Team Leadership & Operational Management



  • Oversee entity communications leaders and system internal communications team
  • Mentor, set performance goals, and provide ongoing feedback and support
  • Develops and informs operating and people budgets to support communication efforts
  • Manage external agencies and vendors as needed; estimates, plans and tracks budget, manages contracting and vendor negotiation processes


Channel Strategy, Technology & Infrastructure



  • In collaboration with HR and IT, develop and implement a roadmap for best-in-class communications platforms and technologies
  • Oversee the end-to-end process for intranet platform selection, procurement, implementation, and onboarding, including vendor management, stakeholder alignment, user adoption strategies, and continuous improvement post-launch.
  • Continuously refine tools and channels to address evolving trends



Brand & Message Governance



  • Ensure all internal communications align with brand and messaging guidelines


Education & Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications or related field, required. Masters preferred.
  • 10+ years of related/progressive experience in communications and change management including 5+ years of management experience with significant impact.

Salary Range: Minimum 226,482.00/annually - Maximum 314,272.00/annually. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
