DWTSurge Contract Cybercrime Enforcement Attorney (Remote)

Davis Wright Tremaine
$100.00 - $140.00 / hr
sick time, remote work
United States
Jan 30, 2026

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a litigation attorney to support its cybercrime and intellectual property enforcement work for engagement through the firm's contract attorney and alternative staffing program, DWTSurge. The selected attorney will work with the Firm's commercial litigation practice group. While the role is remote, attorneys must hold active bar admission in their state of residence and a state where DWT maintains an office.

Attorneys with prior experience in-house or mid-to-large size firms are encouraged to apply. Experience representing technology clients is a plus, but not required. In addition to flexibility and the ability to work remotely, candidates can expect to work closely with DWT attorneys and other contract attorneys as part of a collaborative team, providing high-value legal services to clients.

This contract position offers the flexibility of remote work and full-time hours, averaging 40 hours per week. Candidates with part-time availability of at least 25 hours per week will also be considered. While the engagement is for an initial 6-month contract term, we anticipate the work to remain relatively steady and there is a high possibility of renewal of the contract position for successful candidates. We are looking for attorneys interested in establishing a long-term working relationship with the Firm.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of experience handling litigation matters in a law firm, prosecutors' office, or government legal department.
  • Residency and active bar admission in one of the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, MD, MN, MT, NJ, NM, NY, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA, WDC, and WV and active bar admission in a state where DWT maintains an office.
  • A passion for protecting clients and the public from harm caused by internet bad actors.
  • An interest in working in a hybrid practice involving investigations, law enforcement referrals, and civil litigation.
  • An ability to work on both high volume programmatic legal matters, and high-impact strategic complex litigation.
  • Ability to work remotely for full-time hours, or at least 25 hours per week.
  • Client-centric service mindset. High-level of responsiveness and client service abilities. Confidence managing deadlines and effective communication with clients about deadlines.
  • Excellent writing and research skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to produce high quality work product with minimal supervision and direction.

Please note that this is a temporary contract position managed by DWT's flexible attorney and professional staff program, DWTSurge. Compensation will be paid on an hourly basis, commensurate with experience and skill level (see below). This role is eligible for benefits for full-time engagements. Due to the structure of the DWTSurge program, DWTSurge employees are not eligible for the firm's pro bono, DEI, and other activities or opportunities outside of the above stated scope of work. We are interested in candidates electing to pursue a more flexible way of providing continuous, high-value legal services to the firm and our clients. If you are interested in a more traditional law firm position, please check the DWT careers page for lateral and staff opportunities.

Salary Range

The hourly compensation rate for this role in CA, MD, MN, NY, OR, WA, and WDC is $100 to $140 per hour. Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate's education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
