The Principal Procedural Specialist is a senior member of our Emerging & Exploratory Therapies team, working at the forefront of innovation to help shape how new cardiac procedures are introduced, evaluated, and adopted. This role partners directly with investigating physicians, early adopters, Clinical, and Hybrid Sales teams to develop procedures, train investigators, and support the controlled introduction of 510(k)-cleared technologies prior to commercial launch.

You will thrive in this role if you enjoy building something new, working with first-time users, navigating evolving procedures, and helping physicians translate innovative technology into repeatable clinical practice. This role is designed for senior clinical professionals who want to be at the leading edge of innovation and are excited to help shape the future of cardiac therapies.

  • Help define how new technologies are used and taught
  • Partner with Hybrid Therapies Sales to develop early markets and clinical momentum
  • Play a hands-on role in pre-commercial product introduction, where procedures, workflows, and training models are still being refined

What You Will Do

Procedural Development & Clinical Leadership

  • Provide hands-on, in-lab procedural support for emerging technologies in Lab environments
  • Proctor physicians during early cases, offering real-time guidance on device setup, technique optimization, and workflow integration

  • Help develop and refine procedural best practices for new and evolving therapies
  • Build deep, trusted relationships with physicians who are evaluating or advancing exploratory therapies
  • Serve as a clinical and procedural thought partner for physicians operating at the edge of innovation

Education & Training

  • Design and deliver customized physician training programs in collaboration with Professional Education
  • Lead regional and site-based training labs focused on emerging procedures
  • Create high-impact educational content for both external physicians and internal teams
  • Train and mentor sales, clinical, and education colleagues on new procedures and technologies

Who Are You

You are a senior clinical specialist or educator who:

  • Is energized by new customers, new procedures, and new technology
  • Is comfortable operating before everything is "fully baked"
  • Enjoys influencing how procedures are developed and adopted
  • Can balance physician partnership, procedural rigor, and commercial awareness
  • Is viewed by physicians as a credible procedural authority, not just a trainer

What You Bring

Highly Valued Experience

  • Experience with procedural development for new or evolving technologies
  • Atrial Fibrillation and/or Left Atrial Appendage management experience
  • Background as a PA, RN, Scrub Nurse, or similar procedural role
  • Experience supporting 510(k)-cleared products prior to commercial launch

  • Prior use of AtriCure products as an end user
