What You'll Be Doing:


The Manufacturing Engineering intern will play a vital role in supporting the plant improvement initiatives, with a primary focus on Modeling and Mechanical Engineering Design tasks. Additionally, opportunities will be provided to gain experience in manufacturing, process control, fabrication, and general shop skills.


Core Responsibilities:


  1. 3D Modeling:

    • Utilize SOLIDWORKS to create detailed 3D models relevant to departmental and project needs.

      • Prototype creation using Additive and Subtractive manufacturing processes (3D Printing, CNC Mill, Manual Machine Work).




  2. Fixturing/Device Creation:

    • Design and develop fixtures and devices to enhance efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives.


  3. Assist Manufacturing Engineer:

    • Collaborate with functions within Manufacturing to implement solutions aimed at increasing production efficiency and enhancing operator-machine interactions.




What You Bring to the Table:


  • Currently pursuing a degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Strong conceptual understanding of 3D models and dimensioning, preferably with experience in SOLIDWORKS.
  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Communication and collaboration skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to a dynamic team environment.


Bonus Points If You Have:


The ideal candidate should have basic proficiency in the following systems:


  • SOLIDWORKS
  • Machine Shop Safety
  • Basic understanding of design and process
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Teams


When and Where You'll Shine:


  • Full-time: Hybrid Schedule (Onsite Mon-Thu, Remote Fri)
  • Location: Danbury, CT
  • Dates of Program: June 15 to August 20, 2026
  • A reliable commute or the intention to find temporary housing before starting the internship is required.
