ATI is seeking a Lab Supervisor for our team in Millersburg, OR. This is a Night Shift position on a 4x4 rotation - 4 days on 7 PM to 7 AM, 4 days off, 4 days on 7 PM to 7 AM, 4 days off. This role will oversee a team of 5-10 lab technicians and ensure safety, reliability, productivity and profitability.


Primary Responsibilities
* Leads direct reports in the pursuit of Area performance in line with Area goals.
* Continually coaches, counsels, and encourages direct reports to adhere to operational discipline
elements.
* Assists in troubleshooting and teaching problem-solving skills to close performance gaps.
* Proactively engage direct reports for their improvement ideas, opinions, and contributions.
* Acts as the "off-hour" operations maintenance gatekeeper on shift.
* Prepares initial incident reports and supports incident investigation.
* Ensures equipment preparation for maintenance as per the maintenance schedules.
* Works closely with the Operations Capability Leader to develop operator RREs (roles, responsibilities and expectations) and performance
evaluations.
* Supports the implementation of Root Cause Analysis methods and actively coaches the operators in
their use.

Qualifications



  • 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience required. Supervisory experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment preferred
  • At least 2 years of laboratory experience is required, including knowledge of standard lab equipment and equipment troubleshooting
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a science field, especially chemistry, is highly preferred
  • Supervisory experience in a union environment is preferred
  • Previous experience in the metals industry is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing practices and continuous improvement concepts.
  • PSM systems knowledge, as well as management of change experience
  • Experience with root cause analysis

Salary Range: $65,000 to $83,000/annually +
