Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Architect with our client in the financial industry located in Chicago, IL and Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract to hire position. Responsibilities: Define an architectural vision and solution architecture which aligns with the business strategy, enterprise architecture strategy, technology and platform choices Describe the solution intent and the associated operating environment, determine the primary systems/subsystems and their interfaces, define non-functional requirements Ensure the solution is fit for purpose by working with stakeholders, vendors/service providers Evaluate the impact of strategic design decisions Work with both business and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision Lead rapid shaping of a high level architecture with details filled in with emerging business requirements; ensure architecture is flexible and modular and designed to adapt easily Utilize the defined best practices, template and documentation to create architectural designs Work with Product Manager/Owner to plan and prioritize technology focused backlog items for the architecture runway Clarify the architecture for the development teams to support implementation, and provide solution options to resolve any impediments Perform design reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements for a solution are sufficiently met (e.g., security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability) Requirements: 10+ years' experience working in Banking/Financial Services Technology discipline Information architecture Data modelling and architecture Domain knowledge of Payments, Accounting Services, Liquidity Management, Receivables, Trade and Supply Chain Finance, Commercial Card domains Experience driving a shared service strategy and performance culture Drives best practices approach to the continuous improvement of our products, processes and tools Motivated self-starter Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment Relevant IT experience (SDLC- Waterfall/Agile) Strong Business Partner coordination Able to lead and contribute to automation, causal analysis and development of shared/common solutions Strong verbal and written communication skills (both to a technical and non-technical audience) Analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem solving and innovative thinking Experience translating complex concepts into multiple architectural "views" aimed at varying audiences Broad based IT knowledge and experience (Financial Software, Middleware, Databases) Experience interpreting business needs and applying innovative technology solutions Commercial banking technology experience with a focus on payments and cash management Communications skills to engage junior and senior technology and business partners End-to-End solution design experience Desired skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/related field or related work experience Previous solution architect roles and responsibilities Pay Range: $63.68-$71.68 Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
