Job Description




As a Security Officer - State Office Patrol in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal supporting a government location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help to reduce security-related incidents. You will document observations, respond to concerns, and provide clear communication and customer service to employees and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access to government facilities by verifying identification and/or credentials, issuing visitor passes, and directing authorized personnel to appropriate areas.
  • Monitor alarms, radios, phones, and video surveillance systems, and report irregular activity according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical emergencies, disturbances, and suspicious activity.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, interior areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Document observations, incidents, and actions taken in daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required logs.
  • Support crowd control and orderly movement of the public during peak service hours, special events, and/or high-traffic periods.
  • Communicate and coordinate with on-site personnel and responding public agencies as needed, following established escalation and notification procedures.
  • Assist with screening of belongings and/or entry points when assigned, in accordance with location policies and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while enforcing location rules and de-escalating conflicts when possible.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • The client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
