Your Opportunity as a Wave Planner The Wave Planner will be responsible for ensuring the daily workload is released in accordance with company standards while providing analysis to impact business decisions. This position will work to coordinate the daily workload and plan work release to the floor. Location: 30800 W. 207th Street, Edgerton, KS 66021 (Hostess Distribution Center) Work Arrangements: 100% on-site, Night Shift. Tuesday-Friday: 4pm-2:30am (10hr shift). Flexibility required. Willingness to work off shift (including nights, weekends, and/or holidays) and flow to the work as needed. In this role you will:
Compile data for daily outbound reports and present it in a timely manner to all stakeholders. Ability to prioritize and organize workloads. Self-motivated and reliable; works well with others or individually on tasks. Present effectively with stakeholders and business partners on workflow, trends, and labor capacity. Lead/assist in communicating outbound workload with business partners to ensure customer service standards are met. Work directly with Inventory Control Specialist to review previous days' production and identify corrections needed for financial reporting. Assist in reconciliation of inventory discrepancies Promote and ensure a safe working environment, ensure all safety measures are being followed within the designated area, and communicate with production leads, supervisors, and operations manager when necessary. Send required updates to supervisors, master scheduler, operations manager, and team. Other tasks as assigned by the operations manager. Pass on the required information to the oncoming management team for the following shift. Own and lead outbound daily plan. Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio). Strong attention to detail. Must be flexible and work well in a fast-paced environment. Take the initiative to identify, lead, and establish continuous improvement practices that improve the performance of outbound operations. Accurately maintain and enter all necessary data tasks for items in the workflow system and follow up on items that are not progressing through the workflow. Create visual trends and define countermeasures for deficiencies in outbound plan. Collecting and interpreting data while analyzing results using statistical techniques. Report results back to the relevant members of the business. Work alongside all teams within the business to establish improvement projects.
What we are looking for: Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is required 1 year of experience utilizing warehouse systems required 1 year of previous distribution experience Strong computer skills
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required Previous wave planner or production planner experience Food manufacturing experience is desired Experience in Blue Yonder, Oracle and IMI systems is a plus. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Work Environment: This job operates in a warehouse environment. The noise level in the work environment sites can be high. Physical Demands:
Regularly required to talk and hear. Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds frequently. May push and pull heavy objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
