Inside the Role

As a contributing member of the DTNA Safety Team, this role plays a key part in supporting a proactive safety culture that aligns with strategic operations and ensures compliance with local, state, federal, and DTNA regulations within Mt. Holly Truck Manufacturing Plant.
Operating within a complex and dynamic environment, the Safety Coordinator works to energize and site teams, ensuring they are knowledgeable, engaged, and aligned in their pursuit of safety excellence. This position provides day-to-day technical and administrative support to plant safety operations under the guidance of the Plant Safety Specialist. This role supports safety programs, training, compliance activities, data management, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure a safe and compliant working environment across all plant departments.
The Safety Coordinator will learn core safety management practices while working closely with the Safety Specialist, progressively gaining confidence to take on higher level responsibilities.

Position offers a starting salary range of$78,000- $100,000 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, andexperience

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Provide technical and administrative support for plant-level safety and training programs.

  • Deliver required safety training, including new employee orientation, core plant safety certifications, and updated regulatory programs.

  • Maintain daily and weekly plant safety data, charts, and retention records.

  • Assist with nearmiss reviews, job hazard analyses, and minor accident investigations while supporting all established safety policies and initiatives.

  • Support updates to plant safety policies, programs, and procedures related to safety engineering and industrial hygiene.

  • Identify improvement opportunities and help drive corrective actions.

  • Compile, analyze, and interpret safety data-including injury trends and workers' compensation information-to support decisionmaking.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as DTNA safety policies.

  • Provide technical and educational support on OSHA regulations, safety programs, and proactive safety culture initiatives across all levels of the organization.

  • Support injuryprevention efforts using risk analysis tools and corrective actions aligned with the Hierarchy of Controls.

  • Assist with ergonomic initiatives by supporting efficient work processes and identifying improvement opportunities.

  • Communicate with UAW safety representatives on Safety & Health matters in accordance with the current CBA (where applicable).

  • Partner with other DTNA locations for benchmarking, bestpractice sharing, and safety alignment.

  • Conduct safety audits onsite and at other DTNA facilities, contributing to internal/external compliance consistency and continuous improvement of safety systems.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • BS in Safety Science, Environmental Health, or Associated Field of study

  • 1-3 years of professional safety experience in occupational safety and health in a heavy manufacturing environment

  • Solid understanding of occupational health principles

  • Working knowledge of Enablon or similar EHS management systems

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Union experience is preferred
