Job Description




As a Security Officer - School Patrol Driver in Newberry, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post, so you will use a company-approved vehicle as needed to respond to calls for service, document activity, and collaborate with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and guided by integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, classrooms, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entrances and common areas, observe for unusual conditions, and report concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation and requesting assistance when needed.
  • Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and shift documentation per site guidelines while maintaining clear communication with site personnel and/or Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21 or more years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
