Meet the Team

Cisco is building AI Canvas, an AI-native collaborative workspace that transforms how network and IT professionals troubleshoot, analyze, and manage complex infrastructure problems. You will join the Canvas platform team, working cross-functionally to deliver a powerful, scalable, and intuitive product experience. We ship iteratively, measure user engagement and outcomes, and obsess over reducing time-to-insight for practitioners. You will work closely with Engineering, Design, AI/ML, Customer Experience, Data Science, and Product Management teams across Networking, Security, and Observability portfolios.

Your Impact:

You will own key aspects of the Canvas product strategy and execution, ensuring that our AI-native workspace delivers powerful capabilities that scale for enterprise customers while maintaining exceptional user experiences. You will balance innovation with performance, reliability, and usability, working across multiple product areas from platform fundamentals to customer-facing features.

  • Define Canvas product vision and roadmapacross user experience, performance, scale, and platform capabilities, ensuring Canvas delivers powerful AI-assisted workflows that work reliably at enterprise scale.
  • Own core product areaswhich may include: board and widget experiences, AI reasoning and automation, collaboration features, performance optimization, scalability architecture, data management, or third-party integrations based on team priorities.
  • Drive technical excellenceby working with Engineering to define performance benchmarks, scalability targets, reliability SLAs, and quality standards; ensure Canvas performs well under enterprise load with thousands of concurrent users and large data volumes.
  • Build AI-native product experiencessuch as natural language interactions, dynamic reasoning traces, contextual recommendations, autonomous workflows, and intelligent automation that learn from practitioner behavior and provide proactive insights.
  • Enable enterprise scaleby defining requirements for multi-tenancy, data isolation, caching strategies, query optimization, horizontal scaling, and infrastructure efficiency; balance feature richness with system performance.
  • Collaborate across product portfolioto ensure consistent experiences across Meraki, ThousandEyes, and third-party integrations; define interaction patterns for multi-product data visualization, cross-domain insights, and unified authentication flows.
  • Partner with Design and Engineeringto deliver features that balance power-user capabilities with ease of use; ensure Canvas works seamlessly across desktop and mobile, meets accessibility standards, and handles edge cases gracefully.
  • Validate with customersthrough continuous user research, alpha/beta programs, and performance testing; define success metrics for adoption, engagement, performance (latency, throughput), reliability (uptime, error rates), and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead collaboration and sharing capabilitiesincluding board permissions (RBAC), hierarchical access controls, real-time co-editing, and URL-based sharing that enable teams to work together on complex problems at scale.
  • Support business outcomesby defining product capabilities that align with Free, Professional, and Enterprise monetization strategies; work with GTM, Sales, and CX teams to enable field readiness and customer success.
  • Drive continuous improvementthrough backlog management, A/B testing, feature flagging, and phased rollouts; balance innovation with stability; maintain quality through comprehensive acceptance criteria and performance benchmarks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in product management (or equivalent), with experience in technical products, SaaS platforms, or enterprise software.
  • Experience delivering complex products involving scalability, performance optimization, user experience, and/or technical architecture considerations.
  • 1+ years building or shipping AI-powered product experiences such as conversational interfaces, recommendation systems, intelligent automation, or agentic workflows.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, web application architecture (APIs, microservices, caching, databases), and performance engineering fundamentals.
  • Proven ability to partner with Engineering and Design to translate customer problems into scalable, performant, and intuitive product solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in networking, security, observability, or IT operations tools; familiarity with practitioner workflows for troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with performance engineering, scalability planning, or infrastructure optimization; understanding of latency, throughput, caching strategies, and database optimization.
  • Knowledge of data visualization, analytics platforms, and presenting complex technical information in accessible formats.
  • Understanding of multi-tenant architecture, data isolation, security compliance, and enterprise-scale system design.
  • Track record of defining and improving product metrics such as time-to-value, performance benchmarks (P95 latency, error rates), user satisfaction (NPS/CSAT), and feature adoption.
  • Experience with both B2B and B2C product design; ability to balance enterprise requirements with consumer-grade simplicity.
  • Strong analytical and storytelling skills; ability to communicate product vision and technical tradeoffs to executive and technical audiences through data, wireframes, and customer narratives.

Message to applicants applying to work in the U.S. and/or Canada: The starting salary range posted for this position is $168,800.00 to $241,200.00 and reflects the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation*, equity, or benefits.

Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. The full salary range for certain locations is listed below. For locations not listed below, the recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.

U.S. employees are offered benefits, subject to Cisco's plan eligibility rules, which include medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability coverage, and basic life insurance. Employees may be eligible to receive grants of Cisco restricted stock units, which vest following continued employment with Cisco for defined periods of time.

U.S. employees are eligible for paid time away as described below, subject to Cisco's policies:

  • 10 paid holidays per full calendar year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees

  • 1 paid day off for employee's birthday, paid year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid days off for personal wellness determined by Cisco

  • Non-exempt employees** receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year, accrued at rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full-time employees

  • Exempt employees participate in Cisco's flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)

  • 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours ofunused sick timecarried forwardfrom one calendar yearto the next

  • Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members

  • Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer

For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco's policies.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

  • .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

  • 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

  • 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and

  • Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.

New York City Metro Area:

$168,800.00 - $277,400.00

Non-Metro New York state & Washington state:

$148,800.00 - $248,200.00

* For quota-based sales roles on Cisco's sales plan, the ranges provided in this posting include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.

** Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements.
