Overview

The Principal Informatics Applications Solutions Engineer provides programming leadership and leads the technical support for clinical application systems with development and maintenance of projects. This will include leadership and expertise of programs and systems related to the electronic health record and other clinical applications and software that support clinical care. This role has a commitment to clinical staff and departments, as well as across the Health Informatics and Technology (HIT) division and the Information Technology (IT) department to provide up to date expertise, and knowledge of the applications and software. This role also is the technical expert for the applications and software supported for clinical care with leadership for any changes or modifications needed to solve issues. Leads technical support and mentors HIT analysts and other levels of Solutions Engineers. Leads all complex projects and/or technology initiatives as the technical resource in collaboration with the project manager through all phases of systems development including planning, development, implementation and operation for complex computer projects while supporting the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of Children's Mercy and the IT Department. This role supervises, creates, and reviews the system documentation including diagrams, technical schema and project related documents. Works with the Senior Directors of HIT to keep them aware of changes or updates to the software systems. #LI-DNI

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required and 10 years' experience in engineering, informatics, and healthcare related roles or
  • Master's Degree preferred and 7 or more years experience experience in engineering, informatics, and healthcare related roles
  • Certified Prof. in Health Information & Mgmt
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems [CPHIMS (HIMSS)] Required Upon Hire
  • At least one application-specific Epic certification relevant to the department (determined by role leadership) Required within 120 days of hire. Must complete Epic certification training if not already Epic certified in the most recent version of the Epic EHR product. Tracked by department leadership. Required

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $48.12/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
