Job Description




As a Security Officer - Data Center Access in Phoenix, AZ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a fast-paced tech and communications location, you will greet employees and visitors, manage entry points, verify credentials, and support badge and guest processes. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, document security-related activity, and communicate concerns with site teams. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to client employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Control access at entrances and restricted areas by verifying identification, validating credentials, and issuing and/or collecting temporary badges in accordance with site procedures.
  • Manage visitor processing by confirming appointments, completing visitor logs, providing directions, and communicating arrivals to the appropriate contact.
  • Monitor access control alarms, CCTV, and other security-related systems to identify unusual activity and report concerns per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical events, disruptive behavior, and access control violations, and notify appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or suspicious activity, with working environments and conditions varying by site.
  • Perform entry screening as assigned, such as bag inspections and package review, in accordance with site policy and local requirements.
  • Document incidents, access issues, and shift activities in written reports and/or electronic logs with accurate, timely details.
  • Coordinate with site management and emergency responders during drills and events, helping to support orderly movement and controlled access.
  • Support asset protection processes by monitoring loading dock and delivery activity, verifying shipping and receiving documentation, and reporting discrepancies per site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • - Be 21+ years of age.
  • - A guard card/license is preferred.
  • - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
