As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control and visitor flow, respond to calls for assistance, and deliver clear communication and customer service to patients, staff, and guests. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, disorderly conduct, and service-related concerns.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of assigned buildings, corridors, waiting areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access at designated entrances and other access points by verifying authorization, assisting with visitor sign-in processes, and directing individuals to appropriate destinations.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or other facility systems as assigned and report irregular conditions to site leadership and/or appropriate responders.
  • Assist with de-escalation efforts when interacting with agitated individuals, using verbal techniques and requesting additional support as needed.
  • Document security-related incidents, observations, and actions taken in daily activity reports and incident reports per site requirements.
  • Help maintain order in public areas by addressing loitering, smoking in prohibited areas, and other policy concerns through courteous communication and escalation when necessary.
  • Support patient privacy and confidentiality expectations by limiting the sharing of sensitive information and directing inquiries to appropriate facility staff.
  • Coordinate with nursing units, facilities teams, and local public services as directed during medical emergencies, fire alarms, and other urgent events.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
