Job Description




As a Security Officer - Gated Community Patrol in NEW YORK, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a residential location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, remain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to resident concerns with professionalism. You will support access control and visitor management, communicate clearly, and document observations and incidents. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and vendors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout residential common areas, building interiors, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and policy concerns.
  • Control access to the property by verifying identification and/or resident authorization for visitors, vendors, and deliveries in accordance with site-specific procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, suspicious activity, and medical or fire-related alarms, and notify local responders when required.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, intercoms, and other security-related systems when assigned, and take appropriate action based on observed conditions and post orders.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and observations in daily activity reports and incident reports, and communicate key information during shift handoff.
  • Assist with resident service requests such as directions, package and delivery coordination, and locating approved amenities, while maintaining professional boundaries and adherence to site rules.
  • Support enforcement of property policies related to access, loitering, parking, and building conduct, escalating concerns to property management and/or supervisors as needed.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and courteous communication while working independently and/or as part of a site team in a residential environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
