Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex - Chemical Facility in Anacortes, WA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy petrochemical location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access points, observe for unusual activity, document and communicate concerns, and assist employees and visitors with professional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and/or visitors by carrying out post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a petrochemical location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of units, process areas, tank farms, loading areas, parking lots, and perimeter zones to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards and unusual conditions.
  • Control access at gates and/or checkpoints by verifying authorization, checking identification, and maintaining visitor and contractor logs per site requirements.
  • Perform vehicle checks and observe deliveries and shipments for compliance with site procedures while maintaining a professional, service-focused presence.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or intrusion detection systems where assigned, and report malfunctions, anomalies, and/or concerning activity per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with evacuations, muster procedures, and/or shelter-in-place actions as directed.
  • Communicate with Allied Universal supervision, site contacts, and/or emergency responders via radio, phone, and written reports to coordinate response activities.
  • Complete detailed activity logs, patrol documentation, and incident reports, noting times, locations, and actions taken in accordance with site policies.
  • Support compliance with site rules related to restricted areas, photography limitations, and/or controlled substances by reporting observed violations through the proper channels.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and customer service demeanor while enforcing site policies and directing questions and/or concerns to the appropriate site contact.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
