As a Security Officer - Fulfillment Entry Screener in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help support smooth operations by conducting screening procedures, monitoring entry points, and verifying credentials and badges. You will remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, communicate clearly with team members and visitors, and document activity using a computer and/or tablet while delivering customer service that keeps the site moving.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Screen employees, visitors, drivers and/or vendors prior to entry by following site access procedures and directing individuals to the appropriate check-in points.
  • Operate screening equipment and conduct visual inspections of bags, parcels and/or items as permitted by site policy to help to deter prohibited items from entering the location.
  • Verify identification, issue visitor credentials when authorized and maintain screening and access logs in accordance with site requirements.
  • Monitor entrance points, staging areas and shipping and receiving zones for unusual activity and report concerns through the established chain of command.
  • Support vehicle and dock access control by confirming appointments, reviewing manifests and/or coordinating with site personnel to route traffic to the proper area.
  • Document and report incidents, hazards and/or policy violations through written reports and timely notifications to supervision and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Being able to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
