As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support staff, patients, and visitors with clear communication, respond to reports, and document observations with attention to detail. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical emergency notifications, fire alarms, and facility emergency codes.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including lobbies, corridors, waiting areas, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to identify unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and help to manage entry and exit by checking identification, issuing visitor passes, directing visitors, and/or verifying authorization for restricted areas.
  • Help to maintain order in high-traffic areas such as emergency department entrances, reception areas, and patient waiting rooms through presence, communication, and de-escalation techniques.
  • Observe and report suspicious behavior, unsecured doors, and/or abandoned property, and notify appropriate personnel per site procedures.
  • Document incidents, patrol activities, and shift observations in written reports and/or electronic systems in a timely manner.
  • Assist with patient watch and elopement prevention activities as assigned, including monitoring designated areas and coordinating with clinical staff per site policy.
  • Support emergency evacuations and/or shelter-in-place procedures by assisting with route guidance, crowd movement, and accountability as directed.
  • Coordinate with hospital staff, local responders, and/or property management during incidents while maintaining a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Operate and monitor security-related equipment such as radios, access control systems, and CCTV as assigned, and report malfunctions or concerns.
  • Provide directions, wayfinding assistance, and escort support for staff and/or visitors when requested and permitted by site policy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR Certification preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
