As a Security Officer - NYS Licensed Agency Patrol in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government transit location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with riders, staff, and responding teams, document observations, and support a positive public experience through professional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and the public by following security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, medical situations, and service disruptions, and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout public transportation facilities and the surrounding perimeter, including platforms, entrances, stairwells, mezzanines, corridors, and other common areas. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor pedestrian flow and loitering in high-traffic areas and take appropriate action within post orders to help to deter prohibited activity.
  • Control access to restricted areas by checking identification and/or authorization, directing deliveries and vendors, and reporting unauthorized entry attempts.
  • Observe and report suspicious behavior, unattended items, property damage, and maintenance concerns through required reporting channels.
  • Use radios, telephones, and/or electronic reporting systems to communicate routine updates, incident information, and dispatch requests to supervisors and local authorities as directed.
  • Document patrol activities, incidents, and actions taken in daily activity reports and incident reports per Allied Universal and location requirements.
  • Assist with crowd management during peak travel periods, special events, and service changes by providing directions and de-escalation support when needed.
  • Support emergency procedures such as evacuations, area closures, and perimeter control as directed, while coordinating with first responders and location staff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
