The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is the nonprofit, applied research organization of the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). Founded in 1934 as the Engineering Experiment Station, GTRI has grown to more than 2,900 employees supporting eight laboratories in over 20 locations around the country.

Job Summary

IT Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, and implementing technology solutions that meet both business requirements and technical specifications. They work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of systems, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and continuously optimize the IT infrastructure, including systems and networks, for optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Design, develop, implement, and maintain Information Technology systems, applications, and infrastructure to meet business requirements.

Job Duty 2 -
Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot Information Technology systems, networks, and software to ensure reliable and efficient operations.

Job Duty 3 -
Conduct system analysis, performance tuning, and optimization to enhance the performance and scalability of Information Technology systems.

Job Duty 4 -
Test and evaluate Information Technology solutions, perform quality assurance checks, and ensure compliance with technical standards.

Job Duty 5 -
Provide technical support, assistance, and training to end-users, Information Technology teams, and stakeholders as needed.

Job Duty 6 -
Stay current on Information Technology trends, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Job Duty 7 -
Document system configurations, technical specifications, and implementation procedures for Information Technology solutions.

Job Duty 8 -
Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements, specifications, and project scope for Information Technology solutions.

Job Duty 9 -
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, developers, and project managers, to deliver integrated Information Technology solutions.

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Associate degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience.

Required Experience
2+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with implementing and troubleshooting datacenter components (e.g. UPS, PDU's, Symmetra, networking, IP cameras)

Experience with logging and monitoring (e.g. Nagios)

Experience with project management lifecycle

Experience with IT asset management lifecycle and products (e.g. SnipeIT, Device42, Asset Panda)

Experience with task and workflow management (e.g. Jira, Trello)
