Job Summary This role supports the installation, decommissioning, and maintenance of network and cabling infrastructure within a data center environment. The position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who can work independently, follow established standards, and collaborate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders. Install and decommission network and cabling infrastructure in data center environments.

Perform copper and fiber cabling installation, termination, labeling, and testing.

Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, floor plans, and design documentation, including redlines.

Install ladder racking and seismic bracing above and below raised floors.

Dress, furcate, and splice fiber trunks, including ribbon and single fiber splicing.

Conduct copper and fiber testing, troubleshooting, and validation using approved tools and testers.

Install, connect, and decommission network equipment.

Perform service swaps of live networking devices while minimizing operational impact.

Maintain clean and organized workspaces in compliance with data center standards.

Follow all production, safety, quality, and industry best practices.

Provide structured updates and feedback on project progress to stakeholders.

Maintain accurate documentation, test results, and service records.

Collaborate with technicians, leads, and management to resolve project obstacles.
Job Requirements

Proficiency with basic telecommunications and low-voltage hand tools.

Ability to pull, route, dress, and terminate all types of low-voltage cabling.

Knowledge of wiring schemes, testing procedures, and industry standards.

Experience with MDF and IDF closet layout and cable management.

Understanding of copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting.

Ability to operate cable testing equipment, including OTDR and copper testers.

Experience programming testers and downloading test results into reporting systems.

Ability to create and apply mass labels according to port maps.
-
Knowledge of differentiating live cables from decommissioned cables.

Familiarity with fiber infrastructure management (FIM) databases and scanners.

Strong understanding of job safety requirements and customer service principles.

Ability to work in active data center environments and follow operational protocols.

Capability to maintain orderly paperwork and manage service-related tasks.
