CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Subsurface Utilities Manager to join our Gas Engineering Team in Albany, NY, where you'll help design and deliver innovative solutions that support reliable gas distribution, grid resiliency, and energy transition goals. What You'll Do:

    Organize, direct, and coordinate activities related to gas engineering projects, from initial assessment through planning and design
  • Collaborate with team leadership to manage and motivate a high-performing group of technical professionals, ensuring excellence in project delivery and achieving team utilization goals
  • Effectively manage project budgets, scope, and schedules to deliver successful outcomes for critical utility initiatives
  • Engage with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded throughout each phase


What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering required
  • Minimum of 4 years of discipline-specific engineering experience required; previous project or team management experience preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Advanced proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software (GasWorks, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in respective discipline and strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • An articulate and persuasive communicator, both one-on-one and in front of large groups
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to guide and motivate team activity and resolve issues with urgency
  • Experience with project budgeting preferred; basic understanding of accounting processes
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Salary Range:

$100,000 - $120,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
