The UX Designer is both a strong user advocate and a visual design leader who brings a high bar for craft, creativity, and clarity. You will partner closely with product and engineering teams to concept, design, and evolve intuitive, visually compelling experiences that help define the future state of Availity's products.

You will design user-centered, visually compelling experiences that improve the usability and effectiveness of Availity's products while supporting business goals. Partnering with User Research, you'll translate insights into thoughtful, highquality solutions and independently create deliverables ranging from wireframes to polished visual designs, interactive prototypes, user flows, and reusable design system patterns. This role is ideal for a designer who blends strong visual, graphic, or web design craft with user experience design principles to create intuitive, engaging, and well-crafted digital products.

What you will be doing:

  • Designing end-to-end user experiences, from early concept sketches through high-fidelity visual designs and interactive prototypes.

  • Leading visual design exploration that enhances our design system, reimagines the user interface, and helps define the future visual direction of our products.

  • Participating in and facilitating design reviews with stakeholders and business leaders.

  • Partnering with User Research to incorporate usability findings and user insights into design solutions.

  • Translating product strategy and abstract ideas into compelling design concepts and future-state visions.

  • Creating polished, production-ready UI for large-scale web applications.

  • Collaborating with Product and Engineering partners to prioritize work that aligns with business and user needs.

  • Contributing to and evolving the design system by creating new components and patterns that enable-not constrain-innovation.

  • Helping shape and communicate a long-term experience vision for Availity's products.

  • Participating in and facilitating design reviews with stakeholders and business leaders.

  • Partnering with User Research to incorporate usability findings and user insights into design solutions.

To be qualified for this role, you have:

  • Over three years of progressive experience designing digital products, with demonstrated strength in visual design and UX processes.

  • A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality visual design and UX thinking. We are especially interested in seeing high-fidelity design work, visual exploration, and concept work.

  • Background in graphic design, web design, or digital product design is highly preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in User Experience Design, Graphic Design, Web Design, Interaction Design, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma.

  • Strong understanding of human-centered design principles and interaction design.

  • Ability to move fluidly between conceptual exploration and detailed execution.

  • Experience designing end-to-end experiences for complex, large-scale applications.

  • Comfortable collaborating with multiple stakeholders across disciplines.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present design work and articulate design decisions using user insights, data, and business context.

  • Experience engaging directly with users to gather insights, validate concepts, and test designs or hypotheses throughout the design process.

  • Ability to work autonomously and lead design for your product area end to end, while also contributing positively to the collaboration and culture of a multidisciplinary design team.

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments; SAFe experience is a plus.

  • Healthcare or enterprise software experience is a plus.
