The Business Development Director is responsible for directing and implementation of the hospital's Business Development Plan. This position develops and directs the business development strategic goals, philosophy, policies, procedures and systems or the Business Development Department. The Director of Business Development also oversees the provision of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service activities within the Marketing Department. The Director of Business Development is responsible for achieving the desired utilization of the organization's continuum of care through the effective application of marketing principles and methods.

As a member of the hospital management team, the Director of Business Development is actively involved in discussions related to a wide variety of facility issues including strategic planning, potential growth opportunities, future projects and improvements in programing.

In addition, the Director of Business Development is responsible for the facility's strategic marketing plan, enhancing the facility's brand/image, management of all sales and business development activities and maintaining an active and productive working relationship with internal departments and communicates issues or potential problems proactively, especially with CEO and Director of Admissions/Intake.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement plans that support the facility-marketing plan.
  • Support and emulate high customer service standards internally and externally.
  • Participate in clinical orientation to units and stay abreast of service changes that may be important to facility customer base.
  • Participate in leadership meetings.
  • Reference Customer Oriented Selling process in daily account management activity.
  • Establish consistent contact with potential referral sources.
  • Maintain documentation associated with account management activities.
  • Support the facility public relations campaign.
  • Assist the COO and other leadership members in carrying out other facility activities.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field required. Masters of Business Administration or related field highly preferred. Experience may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis in lieu of a degree.

Experience:

Prior marketing and/or sales experience within a behavioral healthcare setting preferred. Five years minimum experience in organizational communications, referral development, workshop planning, sales management, and physician relationships preferred.

Other:

Local Travel 80 - 100%; Must hold a valid drivers' license
