The Instrument/Sterile Processing Technician Supervisor provides support and leadership related to the cleaning of equipment and sterilization of instruments. The Supervisor is responsible and accountable for coordinating and planning workflow and other activities. In addition, the supervisor, decontaminates, prepares and maintains surgical instruments and equipment; prepares performance evaluations and disciplinary actions; provides cleaning, reprocessing and sterilization services to Surgical Services and all patient care areas. WHAT WE DO We disinfect and distribute reusable medical equipment. That means we clean, inspect, store, and deliver equipment needed for patient care in a healthcare facility. Because of the work we do, clinical care teams can safely administer essential medications and treatments for patients in our communities. WHY IT MATTERS We provide support to the Operating Room, inpatient, and outpatient units by ensuring that the reusable medical equipment used is reprocessed according to best practices. Within the Low Level Disinfection Department (LLD), our focus is to ensure the delivery of quality products with a timely turnaround for our customers.
