We are seeking a dedicated Materials Movement Specialist to join our Warehouse Department at the Leavenworth Production Facility. Individuals in this role are responsible for transporting stock and recycled materials between the warehouse and production areas, supporting the seamless flow of materials essential to our operations.

As a Materials Movement Specialist you will:



  • Operate a variety of material movement equipment and attachments, including sit-down/stand-up propane and electric-powered forklifts, roll clamps, box clamps, push/pull slipsheeters, and hi-bay reach trucks.
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing trailers, and move pallets on and off conveyors using freight elevators as needed.
  • Locate stock in the warehouse and fill manufacturing orders using powered equipment.
  • Operate corrugate and paper balers to compress recyclable materials into bales, and transport hazardous waste in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Complete all documentation related to stock movement accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with recycling and other contractors for the pick-up and delivery of storage containers and trailers.
  • Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance on balers and power equipment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by moving to different work assignments as needed and learning multiple tasks within the job classification.
  • Participate positively in performance dialogues and team problem-solving activities, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Communicate effectively with outside vendors and other departments.
  • Utilize good safety practices at all times.


The ideal candidate is:



  • Certified to operate forklifts and other power equipment, or able to obtain certification.
  • Skilled in preparing materials and supplies for shipment using banding equipment, power saws, drills, film wrappers, and string ties.
  • Flexible and a strong team player, able to adapt to changing assignments and priorities.
  • Effective in communication, both with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Committed to safety, with a strong understanding of PPE requirements and hazardous material handling.
  • Organized, with good planning skills to manage workflow and set up work areas efficiently.
  • Able to learn and retain new knowledge, and practice excellent customer service.



This position is on 3rd Shift (11:30pm - 8:00am).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Ability to frequently move materials weighing 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds from the floor.
  • Ability to stand and walk approximately 95% of the time.
  • Ability to frequently push, pull, twist, bend, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Current forklift certification or certification held within the past 12 months.
  • Good math, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and operate computer and ordering systems.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and perform under pressure to meet deadlines and changing needs.
  • Ability to reorganize and change directions as necessary.
  • Understanding and adherence to established safety procedures for PPE and hazardous chemicals.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and retain knowledge.
  • Commitment to good customer service.



This position is located in Leavenworth, Kansas. Relocation is not provided.
