Position Objective:

The Corporate Counsel reports to the Deputy General Counsel and provides a variety of general legal services. The primary role of the Corporate Counsel is to serve as a legal advisor on all major business transactions by drafting and negotiating the full spectrum of corporate documents / agreements / contracts related to a variety of operational matters for the Company and its US-based and international subsidiaries.

Responsibilities:



  • This position will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts for the Company and its US-based and international subsidiaries. This position will work extensively with all functions and areas of the Company to better understand business goals and corporate risk and to implement the approach that is in the best interest of the Company.
  • This position will also be tasked, as needed, with a variety of responsibilities to support the legal needs of any area of the Company, working independently or under the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, or Assistant General Counsel based on the project. These areas may include providing support for litigation, human resources, and compliance efforts.
  • The Legal Department serves as a trusted advisor and partner to all facets of our business. The successful candidate will be expected to approach his or her work with a customer-focus and a results-driven attitude. The Legal Department works as a unified whole, and attorneys, paralegals, and support staff are often called upon to complete work outside of their immediate area of responsibility, which enables us to provide exceptional service to our internal clients.

Qualifications:



  • 0-4 years legal experience, with strong preference for experience in contracting; will consider 4 years of relevant non-legal experience
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in good standing of any bar association
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, comfortable handling a wide variety of legal matters, and have a strong work ethic
  • Preference given to experience in the biotechnology, medical device, pharmaceutical, or other life science industry
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills required
  • Ability to work well with diverse internal clients and external parties in a global company
