Job Description

The Machine Operator will set up and operate conventional mills, lathes, and other machines using Lean and 5S methodologies to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts.

Operatehigh speedstamping presses and auxiliary equipment producingmetal goods andsteel componentswith manual and automated packaging processes.Qualityawareness andaccurateproduction reportingis a major responsibility.

  • Operate ahigh speedstamping press andauxiliary equipmentwith manual and automated packaging processes.

  • Meet and/or exceed daily production goals.

  • Reportallmachine malfunctions to mechanicsor supervisors.

  • Assistmechanicswheneverrequiredto keep press/packaging equipmentoperational.

  • Manuallypackmetal connector plates and/orsteel componentsintoboxes.

  • Striveto keep product waste to a minimum; inspect finished products and markboxes with material information.

  • Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty.This includes, but is not limited to the ability to be present at work, arrive ontimeand be at thework stationready for work at the start of the shift.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Effectively communicate with co-workersand managementregardingwork and safety issues.

Mathematical Skills:

Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, commonfractionsand decimals.

ReasoningAbility:

Apply commonsenseunderstanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.Comprehend job training and safety instructions.

Computer Skills:

Some PC skillshelpful, butnot required.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Read a tape measure.

Other Qualifications:

Previousforklift experience preferred but notrequired.

    Physical Demands
    This is a physical position that requires the individual to be able to: stand, walk and carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull, climb, walk up stairs and crouch. This position requires the individual to be able to communicate through speaking and hearing.
