POSITION SUMMARY: This position leads the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous optimization of clinical and administrative processes, programs, projects, and products across the department. Responsible for managing performance data collection, analysis, presentation, and interpretation. Oversees surgical volume, quality, efficiency, growth and compliance initiatives. Facilitates system-wide marketing expansion, competitive advantage, and local business development. Provides comprehensive decision-making support for department leadership. The Manager partners with clinical stakeholders, operations management, revenue cycle, finance, compliance, legal, informatics, and other hospital teams to set shared goals and priorities, create structured improvement plans, translate data into actionable insights, drive measurable changes, assess and mitigate operational risks, and report progress to department leaders. The position manages, mentors, and deploys other project specialists to establish optimal administrative infrastructure, facilitate professional presentation and communication, support diverse working groups, produce effective deliverables, and ensure timely, successful project completion. Position: Senior Performance Improvement and Analytics Manager Department: Surgery Administration Schedule: Full Time ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: Project Management Functions Leads project and program management, developing and/or exhibiting subject matter expertise within the scope of their work to synthesize valuable insights and appropriate judgments. Tracks performance, analyzes outcomes, and makes recommendations based on status reports, risk assessment, issue resolution, and progress against goals, budgets, etc. Proactive forecasting and strategic action planning. Identifies the need for new or better KPI tools and offers solutions. Partners with hospital teams to obtain new dashboards, data feeds, EMR applications, etc. Supports department operations across multiple hospital domains, including but not limited to clinical and administrative practice, finance, revenue cycle, quality, safety, information systems, compliance, and patient experience. Serves as a key advisor to senior leadership and informs department stakeholders of performance trends, risk areas, improvement opportunities, competing priorities, and potential interventions. Tracks performance at various organizational levels, analyzes outcomes, and makes recommendations with timely status reports, risk or need assessments, strategic analysis, and overall progress against department goals, budgets, etc. Maintains master plans (charters, timelines, etc.) for each project or program, updating and adapting them to stakeholder needs. Guides the design of new frameworks, templates, and methodologies within the department. Standardizes and integrates reports, tools, approaches and deliverables across teams and projects. Captures, documents, and shares best practices within and outside of the department. Maintains stakeholder engagement by re-affirming goals and sponsor expectations, defining project scope, managing partner relations, and taking action to resolve problems. Manages and mentors a team of project specialists (and/or other incumbents as needed) to ensure timely task completion and stakeholder assistance. Promotes a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge contribution, sense of purpose, mutual support, and continuous team development. Proficient use of online and offline software (Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Outlook, Teams, Adobe, Tableau, etc.), as well as proactive search for tools that may increase department efficiency. The above is not intended to represent an exhaustive list of accountable duties and responsibilities required) JOB REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in health care management, public health, business administration, or equivalent required. 5 or more years of relevant work experience in health care settings, including 3 yrs of supervisory experience. Agility with regard to new software implementation, including various data applications and reporting platforms. EMR (ideally, Epic) familiarity is a must. Outstanding communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to build value-added relationships with individuals at all levels while providing superior customer service. Positive contributor with a strong commitment to quality, efficiency, and work ethics. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment. Strong sense of accountability for results and team performance.
