We are seeking a Senior Systems Analyst, Data Security to support enterprise privacy, security, and data governance initiatives in a highly regulated environment. This role focuses on analyzing data systems, evaluating data protection processes, and identifying gaps in privacy and security controls.

The position involves translating business and regulatory requirements into system-level specifications and actionable recommendations. The analyst will work cross-functionally with Security, Legal, Data, and Engineering teams to evaluate system capabilities, data flows, and governance processes, and to support the implementation of privacy-by-design principles through analysis and advisory contributions.

What You Will Be Doing

Platform & Systems Analysis
    Analyze enterprise data protection requirements and evaluate system capabilities against those requirements.
  • Assess system architecture, data flows, and integrations to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Define functional and integration specifications in collaboration with technical teams.
Data Discovery & Classification
  • Evaluate data environments to identify sensitive data (PII, PHI, PCI) and assess classification methodologies.
  • Recommend enterprise data classification standards and frameworks aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze data inventory processes and propose improvements for completeness, accuracy, and governance.
Privacy Process Design Analysis
  • Analyze regulatory requirements (e.g., DSAR, PIA/DPIA) and translate them into system requirements and workflows.
  • Evaluate existing privacy processes and recommend enhancements to improve compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Recommend consent and preference management approaches aligned with applicable regulations.
Data Lifecycle Governance
  • Assess data lifecycle controls and system capabilities supporting retention, minimization, and data handling.
  • Recommend retention schedules and data handling rules based on regulatory and business requirements.
  • Analyze exception handling scenarios and propose system-level improvements.
Monitoring & Compliance Analysis
  • Define reporting requirements and evaluate system outputs to support compliance monitoring and audit readiness.
  • Assess control effectiveness and recommend enhancements to strengthen data protection posture.
  • Develop and maintain system-level documentation and compliance artifacts.
Cross-Functional Systems Advisory
  • Analyze business and regulatory requirements in collaboration with Legal, Security, Data, and Engineering stakeholders.
  • Translate requirements into system specifications and provide recommendations to support solution design and implementation.
  • Provide ongoing analytical support to ensure systems align with governance, risk, and compliance objectives.

What You Will Need to Be Successful

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data security analysis, data governance, privacy operations, or related analytical roles.
  • Experience evaluating enterprise data governance or privacy platforms (e.g., Securiti AI, BigID, Microsoft Purview, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of regulated data concepts and workflows (PII, PHI, DSARs, RoPA, PIAs, retention).
  • Experience analyzing system integrations within enterprise environments.
  • Ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into system-level specifications and recommendations.
  • Strong collaboration skills across Security, Legal, Privacy, Data, and Engineering teams.

Salary Range

$109,500.00 To $175,500.00 / year

Onboarding & Travel

This is a remote role, with an in-person onboarding training component. New team members must participate in Trailhead, HealthEquity's immersive onboarding experience Trailhead is designed to foster meaningful connections, support your integration into the organization, and equip you with a strong understanding of our business. Trailhead participation is a key expectation of this role. Trailhead is held onsite at our headquarters once per quarter. HealthEquity covers all required travel and accommodations.

This role may begin with a virtual, self-paced onboarding experience, followed by a mandatory onsite Trailhead session at a later date.
