Overview and Responsibilities
The WisTech Open Lead Editor - Open RN supports the efforts of open educational resources (OER) across the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS). For more information about WisTech Open visit https://www.cvtc.edu/grants/wistech This position may be based anywhere within the state of Wisconsin to support the OER initiatives of the WTCS. Depending on the candidate's location, the role has the potential to be fully remote, with minimal travel required for essential in-person meetings. If the selected candidate resides within Chippewa Valley Technical College's (CVTC) 11-county district, the position will adhere to CVTC's remote work policy guidelines. Work placement, remote and on-site, is determined based upon the needs of the College and is subject to CVTC remote work policy and specific department workplace expectations. The Open RN Lead Editor is responsible for providing editorial leadership and oversight for nursing open educational resources (OER) textbooks developed through the WisTech Open project. This role ensures consistency, quality, and alignment across textbook content and coordinates contributions from faculty and reviewers. Functional guidance and support for the Open RN Lead Editor are provided by the WisTech Open Director. Responsibilities:
Ensure the textbook reflects a "one voice" approach, with consistent structure, tone, flow, and clear, accessible language throughout.
- Facilitate Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) workgroup and/or advisory committee meetings related to textbook development, review, and feedback.
- Review, synthesize, and incorporate revisions based on input from faculty workgroups, peer reviewers, and proofreaders.
- Collaborate with the instructional design librarian to provide copyright guidance and to find, attribute, and properly cite resources, while supporting the development of learning activities, digital textbook design, and any related course shells.
- Communicate textbook updates and information to relevant organizations, state workgroups, committees, faculty, and industry partners.
- Ensure adherence to established timelines for WisTech Open/Open RN nursing textbooks.
- Provide reporting data, progress updates, and feedback to the WisTech Open Project Director related to the nursing textbook(s).
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Intermediate knowledge of and skills with technology including software programs for communication, data collection, and decision making including, but not limited to, Office 365 Suite.
Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing.
- Minimum of two years teaching experience in postsecondary nursing.
- Minimum of three years (6,000 hours) of occupational experience as a registered nurse.
- Experience writing, editing, or publishing, preferred.
- Experience with WTCS nursing curriculum and PressBooks preferred.
