Summary
Central Vermont Medical Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our interdisciplinary Palliative Care team. The PA/NP will provide expertise in a consultative role to patients with advanced disease and their families. Joining a collaborative team that includes a physician, nurse practitioner, social worker, and chaplain, this PA/NP will assist with the coordination of care to effectively meet the medical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient. The ideal candidate will be an adaptable team player who can problem-solve from a perspective of caring and curiosity, employ excellent communication skills, and thrive in high-pressure environments. This is a 1.0 FTE exempt position that will be scheduled to work four 10-hr shifts per week. Currently there is no call nor weekends; this is subject to change as the service grows. Experience
Education PA: Completion of an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) approved program (prior to January 2001 - Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs). Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required. NP: Completion of a master's, post-master's, or doctorate from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
