Overview

Position Summary:

Field Service Technician III is a senior-level role, where you will take on significant responsibility for overseeing major component exchanges and repairs. This role requires a deep understanding of wind turbine systems and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. You will also be responsible for leading teams on-site, ensuring the safety of all crew members, and maintaining the highest standards of service quality and customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

    Lead major component exchanges, including high-level mechanical and electrical systems, such as gearboxes, generators, and other critical components.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics on wind turbines.
  • Ensure safety protocols are strictly followed, providing leadership on jobsites.
  • Supervise and train junior technicians (Field Service Technicians I and II) and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Review and ensure that all service work is completed with efficiency and precision.
  • Prepare and review detailed service reports, including assessments of turbine health and parts performance.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure service schedules and timelines are met.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Requirements

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; advanced technical certifications or degree in renewable energy or wind turbine technology preferred
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with wind turbine maintenance, repairs, and component exchange

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the company's Zero Injury principles
  • Expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Proven ability to lead teams and mentor technicians
  • Commitment to proactive safety culture, with a focus on zero-harm practices
  • Required to travel to different jobsites on a limited notice
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on service excellence

Working Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and extreme heat
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
