The Marine Services Business Unit is seeking a GIS Analyst in Santa Clarita, CA.

As a Senior GIS Analyst, you'll take the lead on complex geospatial projects, applying advanced techniques to deliver innovative solutions. Your day may start with developing new workflows or refining GIS models, followed by analyzing spatial data and troubleshooting technical challenges. You'll collaborate closely with clients and sub-consultants, representing the firm in meetings to resolve project issues and ensure quality outcomes. Mentoring junior team members and reviewing their work is part of your role, making this position ideal for someone who thrives on leadership, problem-solving, and pushing the boundaries of geospatial technology.

What You'll Do Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as lead GIS consultant on projects, providing technical expertise and guidance.
  • Develop and implement advanced GIS workflows, models, and analytical techniques.
  • Analyze complex spatial data and produce high-quality maps, reports, and visualizations.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and devise innovative solutions for project challenges.
  • Manage and maintain geospatial databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Supervise and mentor GIS analysts, technicians, and CADD staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with clients and sub-consultants to resolve technical issues and ensure project success.
  • Stay current with emerging GIS technologies and recommend improvements to processes.
What You Bring Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional GIS experience, including advanced spatial analysis and data modeling.
  • Proficiency with GIS software (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS) and related tools.
  • Strong understanding of geospatial data management, projections, and database design.
  • Experience developing new workflows and solving complex technical problems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to represent the firm in client meetings.
  • Leadership experience with mentoring or supervising GIS teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Programming experience with Python, SQL, or R for geospatial data processing and automation.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Enterprise Geodatabases.
  • Experience with remote sensing, LiDAR, and photogrammetry.
  • Knowledge of FME, AutoCAD, and integration of GIS with CAD workflows.
  • Familiarity with hydrographic survey data (e.g., multibeam or singlebeam bathymetry, side-scan sonar) and integrating survey outputs into GIS workflows.
