You Are:

We are seeking a highly skilled Generator Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Schenectady, NY. This role focuses on engineering qualification, supplier collaboration, and manufacturing support for generator components and systems.

The opportunity:

* Assist in engineering qualification of stator bars and H35 Generator with supplier.

* Assist in qualification of H53 Generator with supplier.

* Support H65 dual source qualifications for punchings.

* Create test plans, implement the test plan and documentation.

* Support qualification of outsourced generators.

* Work with internal teams on interfaces and meeting technical requirements.

* Track weekly Mfg progress at suppliers and respond to SDRs and update drawings/BOMs as necessary.

* Create BOMs.

* Complete PLM assigned tasks.

* Support Mfg and Sourcing in Industrialization projects and Top 20 Generator projects as well as qualification efforts to improve producibility.

* Respond to SDRs.

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What you need:

* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.

* 3+ years of experience in generator design, qualification, or manufacturing support.

* Proficiency in PLM systems, BOM creation, and engineering documentation.

* Strong understanding of generator components, industrialization processes, and supplier qualification.

* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

* Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with GE generators or similar OEM equipment.

* Familiarity with NPI, RCA, SDR, NCN, ER processes.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables under tight deadlines.

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: New York

Compensation Range : $65,000-$98,000

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.
