What to Expect
The Failure Analysis Team's mission is todetermineroot cause and contributing factors to improve Tesla's products in collaboration with a large cross-section of other engineering teams. Engineers and Technicians on the teamare responsible fora wide variety of Vehicle and Energy systems including the existing fleet and new products under development. This is a high-visibility, individual contributor role that requires extensive hands-on failure analysis of electronic systems and components. We areseekingan enthusiastic, fast-learning individual who will work closely with experienced engineers on analyzing, root causing, and reporting on electroniccomponentissues involving systems such as infotainment, low voltage, power electronics, and batterysystemsamong others.

What You'll Do
  • Supportfailure analysis engineersinsamplepreparation process of discrete devices

  • Utilize machiningtools to perform teardown oftop-levelassemblies andisolate components

  • Perform sample preparationvia mechanical polishing and cross sectioningof isolatedcomponentsfor further failure analysis

  • Relayresults via written and verbal reports


What You'll Bring
  • Possess reasonable mechanical skills and a keen analytical mindset

  • Machine shop or CNC machining experience a strong plus

  • Some familiarity with basic electrical measurements using digital multimeter and power supplya plus

  • Proficiency in solderinga plus

  • Proven capacity to rapidlyacquirenew knowledge and make impactful contributions in a rapidly changing environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skillsrequired

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and prioritization skillsrequired

    Expected Compensation
    $24.40 - $56.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
