Position Title: Welding Supervisor
Wage: $40.00-$45.00 per hour Shift: 1st Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm (Mon-Fri) QPS Employment Group is currently looking for an experienced leader for an aerospace and defense manufacturer in O'Fallon, MO. Supervisory skills/team leading and computer knowledge is a MUST! You will be required to pass AWS 3G plate (vertical uphill and downhill), 6G pipe, both using the GMAW and GTAW processes for aluminum and carbon steel materials and products. Welding Supervisor Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Organize daily work, stage materials, and keep jobs moving. - Adjust priorities when emergency builds, reworks, or design changes hit. - Work with machining, paint, design, and production to keep projects flowing across departments. - Quick, practical judgment on the floor when issues pop up. - Ability to balance quality, speed, and safety without cutting corners. - Confidence to identify root causes and prevent repeat issues. Welding Supervisor Requirements: - Deep knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, stick, flux-core) and structural fabrication. - Ability to read and interpret complex prints, weld symbols, and specs. - Strong understanding of metals, material behavior, and distortion control. - Hands-on troubleshooting skills for equipment, fixturing, and weld quality issues. - Firm grasp of weld quality standards, inspection practices, and defect prevention. - Commitment to maintaining OSHA-compliant practices and reinforcing a safety-minded culture. - Experience with procedure qualification, welder performance tests, and documentation. - Ability to coach welders at different skill levels and help them grow. - Strong communication that keeps the team aligned without micromanaging. - Dependability and consistency-shows up ready and sets the tone for the crew. - Solid documentation habits and attention to detail. - A mindset of continuous improvement and willingness to help improve processes. korea.willingham@qpsemployment.com IND999 About us: QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
