Middle East and Africa Analyst II Position - Annapolis


Crisis24 seeks an experienced and motivated Middle East and Africa Intelligence Analyst to support its strategic geopolitical forecasting and advisory mission. The analyst will serve as a regional subject-matter expert, delivering forward-looking assessments of political, security, and geopolitical developments across the Middle East and Africa. The role requires the ability to evaluate complex regional dynamics, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and translate those trends into actionable forecasts for a global client base.


Based in Annapolis, the analyst will monitor evolving regional developments, assess their strategic implications, and prioritize issues with the potential to impact client operations, investments, and personnel. Core responsibilities include producing high-quality written intelligence products-ranging from rapid analytical notes to in-depth strategic assessments and long-form forecasts-with minimal supervision. The analyst will regularly brief clients and internal stakeholders, both in writing and verbally, on medium- and long-term geopolitical trajectories, escalation scenarios, and potential second- and third-order effects.


The position also requires responding to time-sensitive client inquiries with clear, analytical judgments grounded in regional expertise and strategic context. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, capable of operating effectively under pressure, and able to communicate complex geopolitical analysis in precise, professional English to both specialist and non-specialist audiences. Shift work and flexibility in scheduling are required to meet our 24/7/365 mission.


Fluency in English is required.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities



  • Serves as subject matter expert for countries within the Middle East and Africa
  • Monitors sources for events, concerns, or indicators of matter that may have personal safety or business continuity ramifications
  • Drafts concise, accurate, error-free intelligence product
  • Interacts professionally with clients in written and verbal communications
  • Performs backup duties related to other regions
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager



Experience, Functional, and Technical Requirements



  • A master's degree in a related discipline (e.g., international relations, political science, security studies, intelligence studies, economics).
  • Communicating effectively, clearly expressing ideas and information verbally and in writing.
  • Detailing current knowledge of political and security dynamics of the Middle East and Africa regions.
  • Excellent online (OSINT) and offline research skills, and ability to collate, process, and exploit intelligence from large volumes of information.
  • Developing understanding of how to assess information validity and source reliability.
  • Creative and critical approach to research, analysis, and knowledge from varied sources.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team under pressure.
  • Legally entitled to work in the US.



Advantageous Attributes



  • Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, French, and other relevant regional languages.



Salary range: $67,000 - $73,000.00 based on experience
